Well, what a week it has been! Amy and I have done loads of fun things together, including making gingerbread houses and going to a vintage photoshoot.
On Saturday morning, I made the trip up to North London where Amy lives to spend the day making gingerbread houses for our Christmas video. We made the dough together from scratch using a recipe from BBC Good Food and we used their cut out templates to get the shapes we needed for the roof and sides of our houses. The dough is pretty easy to make and it is wonderfully soft when it’s cooked. Luckily we had some spare dough, so I scoffed that while we were decorating. The decoration was, er, a bit of a challenge but I think we did pretty well! Keep an eye out for the videos from that day next month…
On Sunday afternoon, we went to a studio near Victoria to have our hair and make up done for a photoshoot. We got a voucher from one of those websites, so it was really cheap. They did out hair and make up in a sort of 50s style, and trowled on about an inch of make up – though we did have a lot of fun taking photos looking so glamorous. It will be a few weeks until the official photo of the two of us is available, so for now, here’s one of the selfies we took ourselves.
In other news, I posted a recipe for lemon and paprika chicken yesterday. You use a paste from a jar, but it’s really tasty so I don’t reeeeally think it counts as cheating.
I’m also planning to try out Amy’s recipe for hunters chicken. It’s one of the most popular recipes on her other blog – doesn’t it look divine? Thankfully it’s also very friendly on the ol’ waist line, so it looks like the perfect weeknight meal!
Amy and I also found time to go for a wander around the shops this week, which resulted in THIS fabulous photo. We definitely need to wear crowns more often.
How’s your week been?
